COVID-19 UPDATE 13 May 2020

The announcement on Monday by NZ Government included the return of sport during Alert Level 2 however it was not clarified until the next day, yesterday, that this was for community sports as long as the numbers were under 10 in number. This number is to remain until Government’s review and subsequent announcement scheduled for 25th May which it is anticipated that the number restriction will be lifted to allow sports with playing numbers over 10 to commence preparation to play, all going well.

In light of this information and along with other winter codes the anticipated start date for season is still yet to be defined.

As informed previously NZRL are dealing with Government and National Sporting Organisations and is directing all Rugby League Zones in the country in regards when grassroots rugby league can return to our communities.
