CRL ACKNOWLEDGES NZCT’S ONGOING SUPPORT
Grassroots rugby league relies heavily on the generosity of the NZ Community Trust, the largest Gaming Trust in New Zealand.
NZCT has been a long-time benefactor of Canterbury Rugby League, which has recently received another vital grant to help administer the game, allowing CRL to deliver its many initiatives and support its clubs and players.
New Zealand is one of the few countries in the world that has a community-owned model for pub gaming, which sees net proceeds returned to the community rather than the private sector. A minimum 40 percent of gross gaming proceeds are required by law to go back to the community courtesy of grants.
That allows NZCT to be the biggest funder of amateur sports participation in New Zealand – and an invaluable partner in keeping grassroots rugby league up and running in Canterbury and throughout the country.
Canterbury Rugby League wishes to acknowledge and express its gratitude for NZCT’s ongoing support and financial contributions.
