TESSA TE KAHU – KIWI FERN #61
Tessa Te Kahu represented the Kiwi Ferns from 2001-04, following in the footsteps of sister Somma – and playing alongside her in two internationals.
The Papanui Tigers product scored a hat-trick on debut in New Zealand’s 42-8 Test victory over Australia in 2001 and played in the fixture against New Zealand Māori the following season, with Somma accompanying her in both matches.
Te Kahu was part of the Ferns’ World Cup-winning squad in 2003 – scoring two tries in the tournament-opening win over Cook Islands – and featured in the 2004 series win over Australia.
She later represented Canterbury in rugby union and participated in the 2021 CrossFit Games in the United States in the Masters category.
