Serena Setu was one of four Canterbury players to represent New Zealand in the 1998 home series against Great Britain.

Papanui product Setu featured alongside clubmate Somma Te Kahu and provincial teammates Debbie Chase and Alarna Nicholas as the Kiwi Ferns powered to three convincing wins over the tourists.
