TONY GREEN – KIWI #170

Addington hooker-forward Tony Green toured Australia with the New Zealand side in 1925.

After helping Addington to its first championship in 1923, Green featured in the inaugural interisland fixture for South in 1925 to earn a place on the boat across the Tasman. He made his New Zealand debut in a 29-11 win over Newcastle and played in one further match against Ipswich.

Green, also a fine boxer and swimmer, represented Canterbury against the famed Queensland team that toured New Zealand later in 1925.
