Kodi Nikorima enjoyed a stellar club debut for the Warriors during the NRL’s inaugural Magic Round in Brisbane, starring at five-eighth in their win over St George Illawarra.
The ex-Broncos playmaker laid on both of Peta Hiku’s second-half tries as the Warriors overturned a 12-point deficit to down the Dragons 26-18.
After one week on the sidelines, fellow Burnham Chevaliers junior Jazz Tevaga also had a sizeable impact on the Warriors’ drought-breaking victory.
The lionhearted utility made 96 metres and 16 tackles in a high-impact display off the bench.

Hornby product Fa’amanu Brown was again afforded only a short stint off the bench for Canterbury, making two runs and eight tackles in just nine minutes of game-time as his team went down 22-10 to Newcastle.
CANTERBURY CUP NSW / INTRUST SUPER PREMIERSHIP QLD
The second-tier competitions took a breather on the weekend for the staging of the NSW Residents v Queensland Residents clash, won 42-22 by the Maroons.
JERSEY FLEGG CUP (NSW U20S)
Joseph Taipari was at five-eighth for Parramatta’s Under-20s side as they went down 22-14 to Penrith.
With Cronulla’s Canterbury Cup feeder team Newtown having the weekend off, Cruz Topai-Aveai was a late inclusion on the bench for the Sharks’ Flegg team, featuring in a 36-14 victory.
Patrick Elia played centre in the Warriors’ much-needed 30-24 win over Sydney Roosters at Leichhardt Oval on Sunday. The Warriors led by 26 points at halftime before withstanding a stirring Roosters fight-back.
Daniel Sakisi and Sua Ailoilo both came off the bench in the Bulldogs’ 32-20 loss to the Knights at Leichhardt Oval.
HASTINGS DEERING COLTS (QLD U20S)
Townsville Blackhawks centre Daejarn Asi and second-rower Griffin Neame endured a 23-22 defeat to Western Mustangs in Toowoomba.
Winger Jalen Tangiiti-Turner’s Wynnum Manly Seagulls ran out emphatic 46-6 winners against Easts Tigers. The Seagulls sit second on the ladder with a 7-2 record.
