RED AND BLACK REPORT 2019: EDITION NO.5
Each week the Red and Black Report will keep you up to date with how our Canterbury Rugby League products are performing in Australia’s elite and lower-grade competitions.
NRL
Kodi Nikorima started and finished a brilliant score-levelling try in the 65th minute and Jamayne Isaako slotted four goals, but the under-fire Brisbane Broncos were pipped 22-16 via Wests Tigers’ last-minute try on Thursday night.
Isaako also had a try-assist and 147 running metres, while Nikorima notched two line-break assists and 114 running metres. The Broncos face in-form Canberra on Sunday in a desperate search for their second win of the season.
Similar to last week, all but five minutes of Jazz Tevaga’s game-time came at dummy-half in the Warriors’ heart-breaking 28-24 loss to Souths on the Sunshine Coast – and he performed admirably.
The utility racked up 33 tackles and six runs for 64 metres, as well as scoring a doggedly determined first-half try.
