Here’s how they went in Round 13:

NRL

Halswell Hornets product Matt McIlwrick started for the 13th straight match but only played 27 minutes – his lowest return of the season. The reliable hooker still came up with 14 tackles and four runs for 40 metres in Wests Tigers’ narrow loss to St George Illawarra, however, and is reportedly on the brink of signing a two-year extension with the club.

Riccarton Knights’ favourite son Lewis Brown played 28 minutes off the bench in the back-row in Manly’s golden point win over Canberra on Sunday, making 11 tackles and three runs. The match was the 186th NRL appearance for the veteran Kiwis utility.

INTRUST SUPER PREMIERSHIP

Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad’s return to reserve grade bumped Matt Sauni out of the Warriors’ ISP side, but formerBurnham Chevaliers junior Jazz Tevaga came off the bench and scored a try in the 18-all draw with Newcastle.

Pita Godinet was at five-eighth for Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles as they went down to Mounties 44-30 on Sunday.

INTRUST SUPER CUP

Setaimata Sa skippered Mackay Cutters to an impressive win over Wynnum Manly Seagulls, but Nathan Saumalu – who has been in hot tryscoring form for the Cutter all year – missed the match.

Halswell Hornets and Rockcote Canterbury Bulls rep Ken Tofilau scored another try for Central Queensland Capras but it wasn’t enough to prevent a 36-28 loss to Tweed Heads Seagulls in Rockhampton.

Sheldon Pitama came off the bench for Redcliffe Dolphins as they were upset 26-16 by Townsville Blackhawks.
