Snap Fitness joins CRL as Grand Final Day partner

Canterbury Rugby League can enthusiastically reveal Snap Fitness has come onboard as naming rights sponsor for the 2026 CRL Grand Final Day.

Snap Fitness is an industry leader in gyms and community fitness with 12 locations in Canterbury alone – and their signage will proudly be displayed at Ngā Puna Wai, the home of rugby league in our region, in 2026.

“An opportunity arose for us with Canterbury Rugby League that we were just really keen jump on – it’s really important for us to get out in the community and get in touch with the people that come into our gyms,” Snap Fitness Corporate Area Manager James Ben-Unu said.

“We want to get more of an understanding of the people in our community, what their interests are, what they’re into and try to emulate that in our gyms – provide an opportunity for people to take what they love doing on Saturdays, and Tuesday and Thursday nights, and bring it into an environment they can come into daily.”

Snap Fitness’ shared values with grassroots rugby league and community sport renders their support of CRL Grand Final Day – the biggest occasion on our calendar, bringing together thousands of people from all corners of the region to Ngā Puna Wai – a natural fit.

“We are incredibly proud to partner with Snap Fitness, a truly global brand that shares our commitment to community and wellbeing,” Canterbury Rugby League CEO Humm said.

“This partnership marks an exciting step forward for CRL and our members.”

Helping people be happier and healthier is the foundation of Snap Fitness’ business – and their links with rugby league have been fostered naturally by their trusted position in our locales throughout Canterbury.

“The biggest thing about community and culture is the people, and a lot of our members are connected with rugby or rugby league in general. We have strong ties to Shirley, Hornby, Linwood and Papanui,” Ben-Unu continued.

“So it’s about getting around them and what they support, and bringing people together – encouraging and uplifting one another in a safe and comfortable environment.

“We just want Snap to be a place where, if a connection and community and culture is what you’re looking for, then we’re here to live up to those expectations and provide that for our members.

“And hopefully we’ll see more people from the Canterbury Rugby League community make our gyms ‘their place’.”
