CRL YOUTH WRAP
YOUTH WRAP – JUNE 19-21
Linwood Keas and Hornby Panthers will square off in the 18s boys final after both clubs carved out convincing semi-final wins on Monday night at Ngā Puna Wai.
The table-topping Keas defeated Halswell Hornets 44-10. The Panthers were equally impressive victors in a 44-22 defeat of Papanui Tigers, who won the clubs’ most recent clash three weeks prior.
Monday’s (June 26) final shapes as a superb contest: Hornby won the teams’ initial clash 40-12 in the opening round, while Linwood turned the tables 30-14 last month.
The 16 boys competition matches on Monday night were cancelled due to the effect of the recent wet weather on Christchurch Rugby Club’s grounds.
In Wednesday’s 14s boys fixtures on Wednesday night, Riccarton Knights kept their perfect season record intact with a 28-10 win over Hornby Panthers, while Linwood Keas consolidated third spot on the ladder via a 24-10 defeat of Papanui Tigers.
